Tektronix Corporation authorized its "Comprehensive E-learning Digital Teaching Materials for Measurement" to the Department of Electrical Engineering of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of NTU. The signing ceremony for the authorization was held at NTU, to which Mr. Tien-Shen Chang, Deputy Manager of the Marketing Department of Tektronix's Asia-Pacific region, Mr. Chun-Hsien Wu, business manager of Tektronix Taiwan, Dr. Lin-Shan Lee, Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Dr. Jenn-Gwo Hwu, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, all participated.

The professors at the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Department of Electrical Engineering have extensive teaching and research experiences. In today's ever-changing teaching and research environment, they are dedicated to the cultivation of outstanding talents in electrical engineering and electronics engineering. Their solid experience, coupled with the most advanced softwares and hardwares provided by Tektronix and the system designed teaching materials, will most assuredly expedite the development and progress of the cultivation of measurement talents in analog/digital circuitry. Tektronix points out that , the comprehensive digital teaching materials authorized to NTU include: the principles and accurate measurement techniques of digital oscilloscopes, the design and development of embedded systems, RF measurement techniques, unified analysis of crosstalk and other contents in communication systems, and Tektronix will continue to provide free of charge digital equipments that keep abreast of industry developments to NTU's faculty and students. In the future. Tektronix will provide advice and assistance in software and hardware use to NTU.

The Department of Electrical Engineering has outstanding research achievements, which have received wide international recognition. So far among the faculties there are 27 IEEE fellows, 4 OSA fellows, 1 ACM fellow, 4 winners of Ministry of Education's National Chair Professorship Awards, 10 winners of Ministry of Education's Academic Awards, 4 winners of Outstanding Scholarship Awards, 5 winners of the "10 outstanding youth award", and 1 winner of the "10 outstanding female youth" award. The papers published by the faculty of the Department of Electrical Engineering and its related institutes average more than 500 every year, of which more than 400 papers were SCI indexed, and more than 150 were IEEE/IEE indexed. In addition, many alumni from the Department of Electrical Engineering distinguished themselves in science and technology by creating world class enterprises.

The Department of Electrical Engineering of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is dedicated to the cultivation of world class talents in the field of electrical engineering and computer science, and spares no efforts in the upgrading of its laboratory equipments. It actively seeks to collaborate with international leading corporations to build laboratories with a view toward training the students to think independently and to have innovative R&D capabilities.
