NTU’s first Undergraduate Thesis Awards were conferred by President Pan-Chyr Yang (楊泮池) to 12 students on June 16, 2017. These awards consisted of two Awards of Ssu-Nien Fu, two President’s Awards, seven Dean’s Awards, and one Outstanding Award.
President Yang expressed his pleasure in seeing the realization of the Undergraduate Thesis Awards that he had been facilitating and expecting since he became the president of NTU. What delighted him more was to see the fruition of the students’ research effort. He hoped that this award-winning experience will inspire the students to demonstrate their fullest potential for learning and research in their future studies.
The award competition was organized by the Office of Academic Affairs. Vice President Hung-Chi Kuo (郭鴻基) for Academic Affairs expressed appreciation for the various suggestions received during preparation. In the future, the office will consider making changes such as reviewing theses of different fields separately, increasing the number of recommendations, and modifying the current style format according to research domains for more students interested in academic research to take part in the award competition.
Finally, President Yang and the attending guests encouraged the award-winning students to continue their passion for learning and research, dedicate themselves to academic research, and give back to society in the future.
