2nd NTU Calligraphy Award Open for Submissions
The 2nd NTU Calligraphy Award is open to all NTU students from now on to Oct 31. The award has two categories: the brush-pen and the pointed-pen calligraphy. The top three winners of either category will be awarded a prize and a certificate, and their submitted works will be exhibited by the NTU Center for the Arts by the end of 2017.
This year, the rules of the Calligraphy Award have undergone minor changes. Participants of the brush-pen category are required to submit both an imitation and an original work in any script style to demonstrate their calligraphic skills, expression, and creativity. Participants of the pointed-pen category are assigned with passages from “The First Letter to All Students of National Taiwan University” written by Former President Ssu-Nien Fu (傅斯年). Hopefully by copying the passages, students get to realize the expressive power of writing and grasp Former President Fu’s expectations for students in his words of wit and humor.
