NTU's annual sports meet was held on March 29th and 30th (Sat. & Sun) in the sports ground and the sports center on the main campus. The opening ceremony was officiated by President Lee. With the enthusiastic participation from faculty, staff and students, the sports meet lasted for two days and ended on a perfect note.

President Lee said that he was very delighted to see that during the annual athletic event, teachers and students walked outdoors in high spirits, got together and showed their sportsmanship. From their enthusiastic participation he witnessed the vitality and vigor of the school. He also pointed out that , ever since last year's annual sports meet, many colleagues from the administrative units vied to join the competitions, their enthusiasm was evidenced by their eagerness in designing the uniforms, slogans, and teaming up. As President of the University, he was deeply touched by the vivacious energy displayed by the university staff who used to indulge themselves in their daily chores. The annual sports meet served to inspire camaraderie and and team spirit among the colleagues, he said, as the Office of Academic Affairs, the Office of Student Affairs, the General Services Division, the R&D Department, and the Office of International Affairs all organized teams to participate in the sports meet. To him, the annual event has become the most important activity for all members of the university to get together and deepen their relationships through athletic competitions.
