Center for Teacher Education to Hold Symposium on "Problem-based and Project-based Teaching and Learning", and Solicit Entries for the 1st "NTU Super Teaching Case Award"

In order to provide a sharing platform for the teaching achievements of in-school faculty, and to promote their teaching capabilities, the Center for Teacher Education of the Office of Academic Affairs plans to hold the 4th seminar on "Dialogue between Teaching Theories and Actual Practices: Symposium on Problem based/Project based Teaching and Learning" on April 25th in the international conference hall of the graduate institute of applied mechanics. The topic of "problem-based and project based teaching and learning" is an ongoing hot subject in middle high school education, so the Center uses this topic as the theme of the symposium and expects all interested parties make time to attend.

To expand participation and to provide a sharing platform, the Center establishes the "NTU Super Teaching Case Award", publicly soliciting innovative teaching cases as entries for the contest. After open solicitation and screening process, up to the deadline (March 26th), the Center received 29 entries. A distinct reviewing mechanism is set up for this award, of which the criteria for evaluation are:wholesomeness (40%), innovativeness (30%), and suitability (30%). To ensure that the winning entries are worthy of their merits, after preliminary evaluation and final review, a total of eight winners were selected, which fell into the categories of Excellent, First Prize, Second Prize, and Honorable Mentions.

The 1st "NTU Super Teaching Case Award" organized by the Center for Teacher Education received wide enthusiastic responses and the entries were good in their quantity and quality. In the future, the Center will continue to hold this activity in line with its goal to cultivate and encourage good teachers. It is hoped that the Award will become an important sharing platform for in-school and future teachers in terms of their professional teaching case design capability.

Chinese version
