Professor Pin-Hei Chen (Department and Institute of Mechanical Engineering) is a specialist in the area of biochips, nano-biotechnology, and packaging for optical devices and IC. He has published more than 90 papers and has acquired 10 patents from Taiwan and abroad. In addition, he received the Outstanding Engineering Professor Award from the Chinese Institute of Engineers, the NTU Szu-Nien Fu Award, etc. Professor Chen was very active in promoting university/industry cooperation. Professor Larry Yu-Ren Tzeng (Department of Finance) is a prominent scholar in risk theory, insurance finance, and insurance economics. Professor Chih-Wen Liu (Department of Electrical Engineering) focuses his research on power system, electrical machine control, power electronics, magnetic field guided capsule endoscope, etc. He won the Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering's Outstanding Young Electrical Engineer Award and the Best Paper Award, NTU's Research Contribution Award.
