Professor Pin-Hei Chen (Department and Institute of Mechanical Engineering) is a specialist in the area of biochips, nano-biotechnology, and packaging for optical devices and IC. He has published more than 90 papers and has acquired 10 patents from Taiwan and abroad. In addition, he received the Outstanding Engineering Professor Award from the Chinese Institute of Engineers, the NTU Szu-Nien Fu Award, etc. Professor Chen was very active in promoting university/industry cooperation. Besides, serving as an independent board member for domestic electronic companies, he also was involved in product development and technological innovation with the electronic industry, setting a shiny example of university/industry interaction for his peers.

Professor Larry Yu-Ren Tzeng (Department of Finance) is a prominent scholar in risk theory, insurance finance, and insurance economics. He has numerous papers published in important international academic journals such as "Journal of Risk and Insurance," "Applied Economics", etc. He was also the winner of the NTU College of Management's Taishin Financial Holding Research Fellow Award, NTU's Humanities and Social Study Research Award, Chinese Management Association's Feng-Zhang Lu Memorial Award.

Professor Kuo-liang Yeh (Department of Chinese Literature) focuses his research on classical studies, the three rituals, bronze and stone inscriptions, bronze sacrificial utensils, etc. He is a professor by special appointment, and has won NTU's Excellent Teacher's Award, NTU's Academic Research Achievement Award. He served as visiting professor for many international universities, including the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Charles University of the Czech Republic, and the Chulalongkorn University of Thailand.

Professor Chih-Wen Liu (Department of Electrical Engineering) focuses his research on power system, electrical machine control, power electronics, magnetic field guided capsule endoscope, etc. He won the Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering's Outstanding Young Electrical Engineer Award and the Best Paper Award, NTU's Research Contribution Award. In addition, he and his research team are responsible for implementing the co-operative research project between NTU and Taiwan Power Company, applying their research achievements to maintaining the stability of power supply and system safely of the electrical power system of Taiwan.

Associate Professor Pei-Chia Lan (Department of Sociology) devotes her research to gender sociology, work sociology, social organizations, and international migration. For a period of eight years she conducted filed study on the the migrant domestic workers (foreign maid servants) and achieved prominent results. She published a number of academic treatises on the subject, and put out a book on :"Transnational Cinderella—Migrant domestic workers and the Taiwan Nouveaux Riche Employers". Dr. Lan's research work received many awards and recognitions, including, Academia Sinica's Young Scholar's Writing Award, NTU's Szu-nien Fu Research Award, National Science Council's Ta-you Wu Memorial Award, American Sociological Association's "Sex and Gender Area" Special Writing Award, etc. She is widely acknowledged to be an outstanding young scholar of sociology.
