NTU Foreign Students' Association Soccer Team (NTUFSA) Won the Second Runner-up Award in the "2nd Taiwan International Students Soccer Festival"

After the three-day tournament, the 2nd Taiwan International Students Soccer Festival culminated with the Closing Ceremony on May 4, 2008. The event was organized by National Taiwan University Foreign Students Association (NTUFSA) along with the Office of International Affairs (OIA), other co-organizers were NTU Athletic Department and the International Student Information Services (NTUISIS). The NTUFSA won the second runner-up title, while National Pingtung University of Science and Technology emerged as champions and National Taipei University of Science and Technology won the first runner-up title.

This year, foreign students from more than 30 countries participated in the soccer festival, which can be seen as a mini World-Cup. The Opening Ceremony was graced by ambassadors and representatives from various countries. The Ambassador of South Africa, the host country for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, presented a soccer ball to NTU, President Si-Chen Lee received the gift on behalf of the University. His Excellency Ambassador Mawdo C. Juwara was present during the championship games and graced the Closing Ceremony and awarded prizes to the winners. The participating students not only competed on the field, but also established lasting friendship during the tournament.
