The "lost city" in North Atlantic containing carbonate chimneys

The research teams of Dr. Chuan-Chou Shen, Associate Professor from National Taiwan University's Department of Geosciences, and of Professorr Debbie Kelly, Professor from Washington University's Institute of Oceanography, had their rearch results published in the internaitonally renowned journaol "Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America," on January 11th, in which they divulged the evolution of microorganisms which is different from Charles Darwin's theory of evolution. Scientifically, this is the first time that scientists use U-Th dating and genomic analysis to reconstruct the detailed evolution process of the rare biosphere in the Lost City which isd buried 800 meters under the North Atlantic.

For the entire article about the "lost city" in North Atlantic containing carbonate chimneys, please refer to Proceedings of the Naional Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 2010, Vol. 107, January 11th. Archaea and bacteria with surprising microdiversity show shifts in dominance over 1,000 year time scles in hydrothermal chimneys.
