The list of 2010 academicians for Academia Sinica was announced on the 8th of July. Among the 18 newly elected academicians, 11 of them were NTU community members. They were, respectively, Dr. Teresa H. Meng, Dr. Yu Wang, Dr. Shih-Chang Lee, and Dr. Ching-Li Chai (for the division of math and sciences); Dr. Jerry Hsueh-Ching Wang, Dr. Ming-Jer Tsai, Dr. Lu-Hai WanDahg, and Dr. Chung-Shuan Chen (for the division of life sciences); Dr. I-tien Hsing, Dr. Dah-An Ho, and Dr. Shu-min Huang (for the division of humanities and social sciences). Of the eleven people, Dr. Yu Wang is an alumnus of NTU who also teaches at this university. All the faculty, staff and students of NTU have the greatest admirations for the outstanding achievements of these newly elected academicians, and hope that, in the future, they will lend their help to the development of the affairs of the university and to its pursuit of excellence.
