NTU Made the list of Times reputation ranking of worldwide universities,
ranking between the 81^st and the 90^th place

The London Times Higher Education Supplement announced the reputation ranking of world universities in March. America’s Harvard University topped the list. NTU’s ranking was between the 81st and the 90th place. Aside from being ranked the 94th place in the QS world university rankings in 2010, this is another indicator that NTU has joined the ranks of the top 100 universities in the world.

The London Times world university ranking emphasizes each university’s academic reputation. The 2011 results, announced in March, indicated that Harvard University topped the list, and the Tokyo University of Japan had the best performance among Asian universities, ranking the 8th place. The National University of Singapore, which ranked the 27th place, was the best among Chinese. The Tsing-hua University and the Peking University of China made their way into the top 100 universities in the world, ranking the 35th place, and the 43rd place, respectively. National Taiwan University was ranked between the 81st place and the 90th place.

Compared with the Times world university ranking, the Shanghai Jiao-tung University’s Academic Rankings of World Universities(ARWU) quantified the faculty’s qualities and their research achievements, whereas the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan invented the performance ranking of scientific papers as a criteria for evaluation. NTU’s performance was ranked Number one in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China by both.
