Aug. 26, 2014 marked an important milestone in the history of National Taiwan University's architectural development when the College of Social Sciences was officially relocated to NTU's Main Campus following the completion of the Social Sciences Building.

Formally part of the College of Law, the College of Social Sciences had been situated in NTU's Downtown Campus on Hsu-chow Road since 1947. Over those decades, only a handful of the college's classrooms and offices were located on the Main Campus. The event marked the college’s final move back into the Main Campus.

During the new building's inauguration ceremony, COSS Dean Hui-Lin Lin (林惠玲) on the one hand expressed her excitement for the move, yet on the other hand conveyed a sense of sadness in leaving the building that had accompanied the college’s students and faculty for the past 70 years.
