The key thrust of Professor Chun-Chieh Wu's(Department and Institute of Atmospheric Science) research focuses on the dynamics of typhoon-terrain interaction, the dynamics of typhoon intensity change, and the analyses of the errors in typhoon forecasting. The "DOTSTAR" (Dropsonde Observation for Typhoon Surveillance near the Taiwan Region) Project is Professor Wu's representative research work. This Project is an inter-departmental endeavor, and a cross national cooperation between Taiwan and the United States. Spearheaded by Professor Wu and run by Taiwanese researchers, the DOTSTAR Project marks a new milestone in Taiwan's contribution to international typhoon research, and plays a leading role in Northwestern Pacific and Southeastern Asia typhoon studies. ※Professor Wu's Website: http://typhoon.as.ntu.edu.tw/professor.htm
